It really kinda dissapoints me in a way. As patriotic as we all act on here sometimes, that no more than two or three ever acknowledge such days as flag day, the 63rd anniversary of Normandy, etc. Kinda sad to think that we(as a nation) tend to forget such significant events in our history.

My cousin's death has gotten me distracted. This is the first year that I have forgotten it. I don't consider myself any less patriotic because of it though.

My wife and I bought a new flag yesterday to put up. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance today, but hopefully this weekend I will.

Almost straight from memory, mind you. I come from time where students had to recite that every day before classes started.
